Maximo Park signing to Warp - seemed an odd proposition at the time, but maybe they knew something we didn't. For starters it's yielded a bizarre forthcoming LP of remixes, where the likes of Tom Middleton, Hijack and dubstep producer Martyn have turned 'Let's Get Clinical' into a variety of bastard child dance tracks.

This mix, though, from Warp labelmate Clark is by far the most extreme.

Three Trapped Tigers were the first band I blogged about when I took over the Daily Download last October. Their freeform Battles-on-ice went straight to my head and I've been following their every move in a series of cramped cistern-sized venues ever since . This is why:

The drummer in particular is a sight to behold, playing old splash cymbals on top of snares and stacked rides simultaneously in a polyrhythmic frenzy.

The band play Glasgow on Nov 25th, Leeds on the 26th and London on the 27th. GO SEE!

Chicago's rap superstar Kid Sister made a return recently with the anthemic 'Right Hand Hi'. The track was shopped round the remixers with some pretty nice results, most of which are up on Hypem. RCRD LBL dropped the Sonic C mix this morning too. She's playing New York's Webster Hall with Flosstradamus on Nov 27th.

The Toxic Avenger released 'Toxic Is Dead' on IHeartComix on Nov 2nd and the track has since been through the remix grinder several times since (check out Burns and Frankie Chan takes on it here). This one sees our old friends South Central up to their old tricks again.

New York's loudest are doing the rounds right now, with a tour that's taking in Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle, Leeds, Cambridge and London and then My Bloody Valentine's Nightmare Before Christmas ATP on 6th December. It was an ATP where I first saw them and literally couldn't handle the noise for a full set - full on stuff.

The Yeasayer album came in this week and it's really pretty good indeed. While there's no immediate 'Sunrise' I think it will bed in nicely over repeated listens in the coming months.

The Brooklyn neo-hippies gave away the first track 'Ambling Alps' on their website and release it properly on January 4th as a download and ltd edition vinyl with various mixes, including this one by Daily Download regulars Memory Tapes. For more on them revisit this post.
