Aerosmith frontman says he's resting because of foot problems

Steven Tyler has responded to rumours stating he has gone back into rehab for substance abuse.

The Aerosmith singer, who has been in rehab before, has released a statement saying it's all down to pain from a long-suffering performance related foot injury and not drugs.

Tyler also added that the band will be back in the studio and on the road again in no time.

According to CMU Daily Tyler said: "The doctors told me the pain in my feet could be corrected but it would require a few surgeries over time. The 'foot repair' pain was intense, greater than I'd anticipated. The months of rehabilitive care and the painful strain of physical therapy were traumatic. I really needed a safe environment to recuperate where I could shut off my phone and get back on my feet."

Tyler then added: "Make no mistake, Aerosmith has no plans to stop rocking. There's a new album to record, then another tour."
