Aerosmith forced to cancel Venezuela gig

Joe Perry develops complications with his replacement knee

US rock veterans Aerosmith have cancelled a gig in Venezuela after guitarist Joe Perry developed "unforeseen complications" with his replacement knee.

The 58 year-old star has been forced to undergo emergency surgery, a spokesperson for the band said.

According to the BBC, Perry had his replacement knee operation last March.

The group were due to play their first ever concert in the country at the Solid Fest in Caracas on February 1.

Singer Steven Tyler said in a statement: "Playing Venezuela was my idea of a perfect way to start the New Year.

"But having heard Joe had to revisit the hospital this month, the band are truly disappointed we can't be in Caracas and we hope to see everyone there soon."
