Bob Dylan songs removed from Spotify and We7
Dylan's label Sony has catalogue removed from streaming services
Bob Dylan has had his back catalogue removed from a number of online streaming services - including We7 and Spotify.
Representatives for the singer/songwriter's record company Sony contacted the sites last week (beginning August 10), asking them to prove they have the rights to stream his music, reports Music Ally.
Clive Gardiner, We7's senior vice-president of digital music, said that the site has already removed Dylan's music as a result.
"We took it off the site a few days ago. Spotify would have had the same instruction," Gardiner said, adding that he is hopeful the move will not be permanent.
"It may come back again," he said. "There are some artists that will take umbrage at this from time to time. We expect this sort of thing, especially with streaming, and it not being fully understood where it sits yet."
Other high-profile acts whose catalogues are largely unavailable on Spotify include The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Metallica.
In other Dylan news, it was recently revealed that the music legend was picked up by police after being deemed to be acting suspiciously in New Jersey.
