Coldplay donate £1 million to children's charity

The band delve deep for charitable cause

Coldplay have donated £1 million to the children's charity Kids Company.

The charity, which helps young ex-offenders and disadvantaged children, received the donation from the band, who have generously given the cash to help the organisation achieve its goals.

"They were moved by the tough stories they heard and want to be genuine participants," said Camila Batmanghelidjh of the south London based Kids Company. "I got the feeling the donation was something they had planned from the start of their careers."

Coldplay have previously visited the charity's various centres and, as well as donating the money, plan to give music lessons to the children.

i dont like most of their songs but they should be extremley proud of themselves, there are many artists who make so much more than coldplay and yet give nothing. my opinion of coldplay has risen dramaticly

well it does not surprise me at all.. the band have always been committed to charity, what makes this donation more special this time is that its about children.. what a beautiful act! if only other bands/artists did the same... 2 thumbs up Chris Martin and Co.!

.......very good of them to do this, hats off n all that, but truth is, its like someone on the dole buying a big issue for Â£2, they have millions and millions, still doesn't make their songs any better....
