David Bowie recording new material in Berlin?

A user posting under the name 'David Bowie' has left a message on social networking website Twitter saying that the star is recording new material in Berlin.

In the late '70's Bowie record three of his most popular albums - 'Low', 'Heroes' and 'Lodger' - in the city. The albums are now collectively known as his 'Berlin Trilogy'.

The Twitter post says: "Cheers from a snowy Berlin! Working on some new material!"

However, the comment is yet to be officially confirmed to actually have been written or authorised by Bowie himself.

David Bowie's last studio album was 2003's 'Reality' - a heart complaint then forced him to abandon his world tour in 2004.

In 2008, he sang backing vocals on Scarlett Johansson's album of Tom Waits covers, 'Anywhere I Lay My Head'.

He hasn't done anything relevant for donkeys years. Why doesn't he just give up, and leave our ears in peace? He really thinks he's the bees knees, can't stand the bloke.

This guy is a legend. Orangeboy why dont you stick to what you know ie Ting Tings, McFly etc and let Mr Bowie work his magic some more. x

Orangeboy: David Bowie may not have recorded any of his most influencial music for 25 years or so, but his work at the end of 60's right through to 1983 cannot be touched by anyone. He is by far the most eclectic artist of all time and if if wasn't for his influence music would be a much duller place. You obviously haven't heard any of his 70's albums or you wouldn't be writing such utter bollocks

yeah, i hate it when people say things aren't 'relevant'. can't we just enjoy things that are great pieces of music? without them being about... well, whatever people consider relevant; and bowie is god after all.

Bowie is a legend, but he is also a bandwagon jumper.One look threw his career and he always moves with the times but never ahead...the worst so far was his drum nÂ´bass phase.Id imagine heÂ´s gonna go along the lines of what mgmt are doing and that whole Brooklyn throw back bin diving psych 80Â´s record sound.
