DMX plans to start Christian TV show
Rapper is out of jail after serving more than 90 days
He was sentenced to 90 days for the charges, but had to serve an extended sentence after an alleged assault on a prison employee over food.
While he was in prison, Simmons revealed he intends to start a Christian TV show when he gets out:
"I'm gonna start a TV show called ‘Pain and Perseverance’, it's about how I can reach people that the average person can't reach because I'm grounded," he said, according to allhiphop.com. "I'm going to give my first sermon, in the church. That's going to be incredible for me and hopefully the congregation of that church."
As previously reported, Simmons is set to join the cast of ‘Celebrity Rehab’, and was the first celebrity to be announced for the upcoming series of the show, which is in its third season. The show’s resident drugs counsellor Bob Forrest revealed the rapper will take part in the show, which airs on VH1.
