New York book publisher sues Foxy Brown, Lil' Kim

Rappers Foxy Brown and are being sued by a book publisher who wants advances they were paid after failing to deliver books they were commissioned to write.

Simon & Schuster Inc. say they paid Foxy Brown $75,000 in 2005 for an autobiography to be called ‘Broken Silence’ which she was due to hand in by February 2006.

was paid $40,000 in 2003 for a book due in June 2004.

Since signing the deals, both women have served time in prison – went to jail in 2005 for lying about a shooting, while Foxy Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, served time at Rikers Island for violating probation resulting from an incident in which she allegedly assaulted workers at a nail salon in New York City.

According to the Associated Press, Brown’s attorney says she has not yet seen the lawsuit while ’s attorney did not respond to a phone call.
