Glastonbury festival 2010: first band announced

Rockstar 09 winners set for Worthy Farm

Bristol band The John Vistic Experience have been announced as the first act confirmed to play at the Glastonbury festival 2010.

The three-piece won the Rockstar 09 competition, and were considered by judges, including festival chief Michael Eavis, to be the best act out of 24 bands chosen from hundreds who entered to be considered for the honour.

They impressed the judges by performing at the competition showcase at the Pilton Working Men's Club recently.

As par of the prize they also win studio time in Peter Gabriel's Real World studios in Wiltshire.

They went on to play at the annual Pilton Party event on the festival's Worthy Farm site at the weekend (September 4), which also saw Dizzee Rascal and Florence And The Machine play.

The John Vistic Experience's music can be heard at their MySpace page, MySpace.com/johnvisticexperience.

Glastonbury 2010 will take place on June 24-27 next year.
