Happy Mondays announce Christmas homecoming show

Shaun Ryder and Co set for festive gig

Comeback band Happy Mondays have announced details of a homecoming show.

The baggy perennials will play Manchester Central on December 14.

Speaking about the Christmas show, frontman Shaun Ryder declared: “It’s going to be one of the gigs of the year, even better than when we sold out Manchester MEN Arena in 2005.

“Everyone remembers our last shows at Manchester G-Mex (in 1990, at the height of their stardom) but I reckon we’ll top that with this one – it’s just going to be one pure, big Mancunian Christmas party.”

Tickets go on sale on Friday (September 14).
