LOOK WHAT THEY'VE DONE!
The band headline the Aussie Homebake Festival - and treat fans to new material...
The band played a 13-song set, including hits ‘Are You Gonna be My Girl?’ and ‘Cold Hard Bitch’, as well as previewing an unnamed ballad. Frontman Nic Cester introduced the track by saying "It’s kinda new. I like it – and Mark (Wilson, bassist) likes it too!"
"Tonight is pretty special," he told the crowd earlier in the evening. "It’s our last gig of the year and it’s been an amazing year for us."
The band last played the festival with an early afternoon slot on a side stage two years ago, with Cester remembering the event by dedicating the track ‘Look What You’ve Done’ to fans who’d witnessed the set.
Around 20,000 people attended the one-day event in Sydney’s Domain, marking the start of Australia’s summer festival calendar.
Next will be the Meredith Festival in Victoria this weekend (December 10 -11), followed by the Falls Festival in Victoria and Tasmania December 30 - January 1, 2005 and the annual Big Day Out in New Zealand and Australia from January 21 - February 6, 2005.
