Led Zeppelin reunion: full details here

Find out where, when PLUS how to get tickets for the band's reformation

Led Zeppelin will reform for a one-off show at the O2 Arena in London, it was confirmed today (September 12).

The band will reunite for the show in November 26, topping a bill that also includes Pete Townshend, Foreigner and Paolo Nutini with Bill Wyman And The Rhythm Kings backing those three acts as well as playing their own set.

The show is being held to raise money for the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund, which pays for university scholarships in the UK, US and Turkey.

The fund was created in honour of Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun who died last year. He worked helped further the career of a host of acts, including Led Zeppelin.

“During the Zeppelin years, Ahmet Ertegun was a major foundation of solidarity and accord. For us he was Atlantic Records and remained a close friend and conspirator," explained Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant of the band's decision to reform. "His performance stands alone as our tribute to the work and the life of our long-standing friend.”

Tickets for the show cost £125 each, and they are limited to two per person, and will be distributed by ballot only.

Those wishing to go must register on Ahmettribute.com to be in the ballot. Registration closes on Monday (September 17), while any tickets that appear on online auction sites afterwards will be immediately cancelled.

Successful applicants will find out after October 1.

A big aftershow for the gig is set to take place on the night at the O2's Indigo venue.

Led Zeppelin will feature original members Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, while Jason Bonham, the son of their late drummer John Bonham, will play with the band.

The band will also release a new best of compilation 'Mothership' on November 12.

Promoter Harvey Goldsmith said at the moment the band "have no plans to tour but hopes they will". He added they were enjoying working together again and were currently planning a two-hour set for the gig.

Now now find out what made Led Zeppelin reform and check out the rumours that The Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger will also play the gig

Pathetic. £125 a ticket is ridiculous. I don't want to hear any 'but it's for charity!' comments. You can't use charity as an excuse to jack ticket prices up to this insane price when members of the band in question are multi millionaires themselves. If you want to make money for charity boys, donate from your own pocket.

£125 a ticket practically guarantees that the audience will consist entirely of well-off middle class professionals, whilst the working class music fans of the country have to do without.

Led Zep! You DO have fans out there who can't afford such horrific prices to see you live. Start thinking about them!

I know £ 125 is steep for a gig, but if they would just go on sale as most other tickets they will land in the hand of a few touts where prices would rise into the thousands without doubt. And yes 125 is a lot for loads of people but sacrificing a few nights out, a short holiday or whatever else you can easily spend that sort of money on, for the chance to see what's left of the greatest band in the world ever is surely worthy it if you are a real fan. i was born in 74 and never saw them for obvious reasons, but that's the moment i have been waiting for since I first heard LZ I at the tender age of 12, and if I didn't have the money I would get a second job over the weekend, sell a kidney etc to cough up the cash.

Zeppelin can tour if they want to. Why would they replace Plant? He makes the band work. If there is no Plant, there is no band. I want them to tour, a few more times so desperatly. I was born a long time after the Led Zeppelin era, and I just want a chance. I grew up with Classic Rock, and out of every possible band, world wide, Zeppelin wins me over, by far. I just want one chance to see them live, just at least as my first concert. All I want is ONE MORE TOUR. Led Zeppelin can NOT be over, even if the manager says so, but he didn't make Page's guitar abilities. He didn't give Plant his voice. He didn't educate Jones OR Bonham on how to be so talented, did he? No, he did not. Led Zeppelin is a independant band, and I thought that the best band in the world would have already recognized the fact that once you can play one note, you can make the song last until the very end. But it's not the end. It was never the 'end'. It just needs to be a new beginning.. Please re-tell the world how great Led Zeppelin is. ONE MORE WORLD TOUR.
