Robert Plant speaks about Led Zeppelin tour

Singer says he's in regular contact with bandmate Jimmy Page

Robert Plant has said that the chances of a full Led Zeppelin tour are still slim, despite the fact he still remains in regular contact with Jimmy Page.

In an interview broadcast yesterday (December 21) on BBC Radio Wales, Plant said he was happy to continue working on music with Alison Krauss, who he has been touring with since 2007.

He said: "I'm doing very well with Alison and I'm enjoying that. I still see Jimmy quite a lot and he's very complimentary and supportive of what I'm doing. But we are in different places now and you have to go on to do different things."

In October that Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones had confirmed that the band - minus Plant - wanted to tour with a replacement vocalist.

Robert Plant previously ruled himself out of any possible Led Zeppelin tour, saying he found the constant rumours about him being part of a full reunion "frustrating".

I hate stuff like this, guys like Robert Plant, who are known for a particular thing but have become too precious about their "art". Bob, nobody cares about you and Alison Krauss, everybody wants to hear bloody Stairway!!

It's really unfortunate that Robert Plant is unwilling to think of his fans at a time like this. People have been waiting 28 years to see Led Zeppelin perform a tour, and many people flocked to the O2 show for their one-off performance, in hopes of seeing more of the greatest band who ever played. To be teased like this, and the possibility that another singer would take the vocal reins is tantamount to scandalous and dubious to seemingly all of Led Zeppelin's fans. Led Zeppelin is best when Robert sings. If some other singer is employed to sing with Page, Bonham and Jones, I hope they will have the good sense not to emblazon the Led Zeppelin moniker upon it.

Touring with Jason was a wise move, they deserved one big blow-out to show what they're made of, but Robert Plant's voice is heavenly. It's disastrous to consider recording new material without him under the Led Zeppelin name.

Robert Plant doesn't want to tour simply because he can't perform the material. I really wanted the O2 show to be spectacular, but it was just hard to watch. I was embarrased for him. Zeppelin without Plant could actually be a possibility...with the right package of talent and personality. I would like to see a tasteful competition, worldwide, for his replacement. INXS had a successful venture with a "competition", but they chose a less than exciting replacement for Michael H. There is someone out there to fill in for Robert and hope to see that happen ASAP!

Well, First off, I love LZ, and have been listening to them since the 70's. In 1980 when Bonzo died, Led Zep said they could not continue as they were.......END OF STORY!!!! Plant is correct in my opinion, there is no more LZ without Bonzo, period. Having said that, if Page,Jones, and Jason Bonham want to make some records and tour, well then, go for it, just NOT as Led Zeppelin. I walk daily for exercise, and I plug in my Led Zep stuff, and still enjoy their old music to this day. Plant has moved on, the rest need to too.
