Les Savy Fav 'totally honoured' to be play ATP film screening shows

Band also tell NME.COM they'd love to curate the festival in the future

Les Savy Fav bassist Syd Butler has praised the new 'All Tomorrow's Parties' film after his band were invited to play live at screenings of it later this month. You can watch a trailer of the film below.

Speaking to NME.COM about the film, which features professionally shot and fan-recorded footage of the festival, Butler said he felt "totally honoured to be a part of it", before explaining what ATP means to him on a personal level.

"Other festivals that we play have a real disconnect between the bands and the audience and, as a person in a band, I struggle with the audience sometimes," he said. "The thing with ATP is there's, like, one bar where everyone goes to – bands and fans – and you can socialise and really get to know the people who've been supporting you the whole time."

He also singled out the film's ability to capture the spirit of ATP, declaring, "I think there's something tangible with ATP, a personal experience that you can’t really capture on film... like the smells of the place. But, saying that, you definitely get a visual with it and a vibe of how amazing it is and what a unique that place is."

Asked whether the band would be up for headlining the festival one day, the bassist replied saying he'd be "honoured and absolutely flabbergasted if we were asked to curate ATP".

He then singled out Pixies, Interpol, and Fugazi as his dream line-up for the bash, although he stated he doubts the latter would "ever get back together or play".

Screenings for 'All Tomorrow's Parties' take place across the country throughout October, with Les Savy Fav playing four dates, while Gravenhurst and Team Brick also play selected dates.

Team Brick is fucking RUBBISH. I've never seen so many people pretend to like something so shit just because they think it makes them look alternative and cool. His 'music' is the biggest pile of try-hard wank I have ever heard.

Should read 'forcibly removed' rather than 'liberated' follow by 'told the crowd they'd pay for the damage and then when asked, refused'.

I saw this at Warp20. It was amazing, totally unlike any concert film I've seen before. A must see!!
