M.I.A. denies she's given her baby an unusual celebrity name
Musician denies her sprog is named Ickitt
MIA has denied that she has named her baby boy Ickitt following media reports about her recently-born child's moniker.
Yesterday (March 6) reports began circulating about the unusual name, prompting the musician, who gave birth on February 11, to post a blog on her MySpace page, Myspace.com/mia, quashing the rumours.
Blogging in her customary capital letters she wrote: "MY BABY IS NOT CALLED ICKITT, PICKIT OR LICKIT THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO ALL THE HOLLYWOOD PRESS. HES A BABY , HE DONT NEED PRESS!
"I DIDNT RELEASE THE BABY NAME BECAUSE I DIDNT THINK IT WAS NEWS!!!!
"BUT I WILL BE BACK WITH SOMETHING NEWS WORTHY SOON , TILL THEN GO PICK ON APPLE [daughter of Coldplay's Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow], SATCHEL [daughter of Tonya Linette Lewis and Spike Lee] AND MOON UNIT [daughter of Frank Zappa and Adelaide Gail Sloatman]."
She signed off by writing: "LOTS OF LOVE STICKIT!!"
