Noel Gallagher: Next Oasis album 'already demoed'

Oasis guitarist says the follow up to 'Dig Out Your Soul' is well underway

Noel Gallagher says he has already written and demoed the next Oasis album.

Speaking to Detroit News, Gallagher revealed that preparation for the follow-up to the 2008's 'Dig Out Your Soul' is well under way.

He confirmed: "It's already done. It's already written. It's already demoed."

However, Gallagher said he was unsure when the album would come out, hinting that he would release a solo album ahead of new Oasis material.

"I'm gonna take a bit of time off after this [the 'Dig Out Your Soul' tour]. I think I might do something for myself, maybe," he said.

The guitarist also let slip how much he wants to hear Guns N' Roses' 'Chinese Democracy', despite the negative reviews the album has garnered.

"I've not heard it. I've read the reviews, and judging from the reviews I know I'm gonna fucking love it," Gallagher said.

"I love preposterous records, and anything that took 17 years [to make] is obviously fucking ludicrous. I'm dying to hear it. I already know I'm going to like it."

....good news to hear, but for fucks sake why aren't there any new b-sides on the DOYS singles ????.....i suggest instead of spending £10,000's @ Abbey Road studios & arty covers and years on perfecting it, just get into a studio, rattle through the tunes, get some blistering mixes and lets have something new soon instead of having to wait another 3 years....please?

While Dig Out Your Soul was not their best effort (by far), I think you just have to remove their first two albums from their canon for the time being. I associate Definitely Maybe and What's The Story with Radiohead's Ok Computer. Brilliant for their time, and in that time period, and by no means bad records at all, but at some point they have to move on and they can't keep making the same record. There are tracks on Dig that I really enjoy quite a bit (Waiting For The Rapture). I agree with Tomq84, Noel is a legend and I'm just excited for this solo effort material and new Oasis material. All in good time.

both singles from this album performed badly, i mean "The shock of the lightning" only went to number three which means it was the first lead single from one of their albums not to make number one scince "Defenatly Maybe" and "Im Outta Time" only made number 12 which means its their lowest charting single scince their first ever single "Shakemaker". i think this is a real shame because their both quality songs.
