Pete Doherty reveals Paris suicide attempt – video
Babyshambles man tried to throw himself off a building
Pete Doherty has revealed that he attempted to commit suicide in Paris earlier this year.
The Babyshambles frontman told Elle that the attempt came last March during celebrations for his 30th birthday in the French capital, where he tried to throw himself off a building while inebriated.
"I had this bash in Paris and it was an absolute disgrace," he explained. "I just made a bit of an idiot out of myself. We had a right old knees-up. I don't even know exactly what happened but I ended up trying to throw myself off the top of the hotel. I wasn't happy at all about being 30.
"I don't normally drink that heavily. But I went through a bottle of vodka. They presented me with this cake and I pushed it in the chef's face who'd just made it for me."
Doherty also reiterated his plan to reform his old band The Libertines next year in a video interview with the magazine. Watch it by clicking below.
