PJ Harvey launches album with stunning solo concert
Singer showcases new songs and classics in Bristol
PJ Harvey played a stunning solo show tonight (September 24) to celebrate of the release of her new album 'White Chalk' - out today.
During the show at Bristol’s Colston Hall, Harvey played a series of instruments in turn, including guitar, piano, autoharp, keyboards and drum machine.
The solo show followed three festival shows in July in Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester, as part of the International Festival.
Harvey was in a relaxed mood throughout, despite admitting to the crowd she was nervous at having regular collaborator John Parish sitting in the audience -"who wants the wrath of John Parish?", she noted - and despite an insect that kept flying into her eye.
PJ Harvey played:
'Oh My Lover'
'Send His Love To Me'
'Man-Size'
'The Devil'
'White Chalk'
'Dress'
'Angelene'
'My Beautiful Leah'
'Nina In Ecstasy'
'Electric Light'
'Snake'
'Shame'
'Big Exit'
'Down By The Water'
'Grow Grow Grow'
'The Mountain'
'Rid Of Me'
'Silence'
'Horses In My Dreams'
'The Desperate Kingdom Of Love'
The singer is now set to play the following solo dates:
London Royal Festival Hall (September 29)
New York Beacon Theatre (October 10)
Los Angeles Orpheum Theatre (15)
