Scissor Sisters split with drummer

Band say Paddy Boom 'will always be our sister'

Scissor Sisters have split from their original drummer, it has emerged.

The band confirmed via their official website, Scissorsisters.com, that Paddy Boom, who was with the band for seven years, departed recently in amicable circumstances.

The statement read: "We would like our fans and friends to know that we have amicably parted ways with the original Scissor drummer Paddy Boom.

"He will no longer be on stage with us but he will always be our sister. Don't worry, we are hard at work on our new record and we can't wait to see you all soon."

Boom is being temporarily replaced by Randy 'Real' Schrager.

The band's third LP, the follow-up to 2006's 'Ta-Da', is due in 2009.
