Super Furry Animals quit indoor gigging
Band say there's no more shows to be had – with roofs on, anyway
Frontman Gruff Rhys told NME.COM that the band would only play festival shows for the foreseeable future - joking that the reason was because they are yet to perfect the technology that could harness their new "epic" sound.
"There are no more indoor gigs for Super Furry Animals," he said. "The music [on new album 'Dark Days/Light Years'] is on an epic scale - it'd be wasted indoors."
The singer/guitarist jokingly added: "We're developing a piece of equipment called Festyval Wynds. Once we've sorted it we'll be able to play indoors."
Although the Cardiff band might not be heading out on tour any time soon, they will be playing live in the UK at the Wychwood Festival (May 29), RockNess (June 16), Bundoran's Sea Sessions (June 27) and Brighton's Beachdown (August 28).
The band release 'Dark Days/Light Years' as a download from Superfurry.com from Monday (March 16). See the new issue of NME, out today (March 11), for the review.
