In what might be karma for crimes against pop music, singer Akon was nearly injured during the set-up for one of his gigs.
Luckily (ahem), it was only a drummer who was affected during a gig at Emory University in Atlanta.
According to several eyewitnesses, crews were working to set up lights on the stage for the show when they heard the canopy above crack and fall, causing the left side of the stage to collapse.
Nobody was seriously hurt, however.
“Akon was not there at the time,” the tabs report.
Surely there are simpler ways to dispense of a crew member who’s stealing your ‘me time’ backstage?
