Big Pink hope to 'do a Coldplay' by supporting Muse The Big Pink Tickets

Band aim to upstage headliners on November arena tour

The Big Pink have told NME.COM they hope to "do a Coldplay" by supporting Muse later this year.

The Londoners are set to join the Devon trio on their arena tour in November, and although they admit to being a bit "freaked out" to be playing the massive venues, they intend to use the shows as a launch pad.

"I remember seeing Muse when I was way, way younger and I'm pretty sure Coldplay were supporting and look what happened to them," Milo Cordell told NME.COM.

"We have never played somewhere so big in our lives, we are pretty freaked out by it. It's a long way from playing what we're used to, but we are psyched and are going to try to out-Muse Muse."

The band will play the following shows with Muse:

Sheffield Arena (November 4)
Liverpool Echo Arena (5)
Glasgow SECC (9)
Birmingham NIA (10)
London 02 Arena (12, 13)

The band who recently released debut album 'A Brief History Of Love' will also play their own headlining shows:

Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms (October 8)
Brighton Digital (9)
Oxford O2 Academy (10)
Coventry Kasbah (11)
Glasgow King Tuts (14)
Dublin Academy (15)
Belfast Airbreak (16)
York Duchess (17)
Leeds Cockpit (18)
Liverpool Academy 2 (20)
Manchester Academy (21)
London Electric Ballroom (22)

Going to see Muse in Liverpool, I'm so gutted these twats are supporting them. Hell, I'd even see the Noisettes support Muse again over these. Should have had the XX or Biffy instead!

They could perform naked and not upstage muse.

The Big Pink album is superb. I'm not sure if they're suited to co-orporate sponsored arenas mind you. Saying that, I'm sure they will blow Muse off the stage. Have you heard The Resistance?! :-/

one small obstacle: their songs are terrible...

Who says Coldplay can upstage Muse? Coldplay are OK but a bit blah compared to Muse. These Pink whatevers can play while I'm at the bar waiting for Muse to get onstage and play their stunning new album.

One small obstacle... their whole band is terrible... mattie: You're deaf... The Resistance is a very cool alternate route for Muse. Mind you, Origin of Symmetry is my favorite and The Resistance lacks one thing: Sheer volume. Even still The Resistance is still better than this 'Big Pink' shite.
