Charlatans' Tim Burgess reveals Isle Of Wight festival secrets
Frontman tells NME.COM all about curating the Big Top
In a video interview with NME.COM, which you can watch below, Big Top curator Burgess chatted about how he convinced the likes of The Horrors, Killing Joke, Hatcham Social and The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart to play for him on the closing day of this year's bash (June 14).
Speaking of The Horrors, Burgess said he's been a fan of the band since their early days.
"I really believed in them from the very first time I met them," he said. "It was at the time when their first album was released. I think their new record ['Primary Colours'] is probably gonna be contender for record of the year."
Burgess said his reason for including Killing Joke on the bill was simple - they were one of the first bands he ever saw play live.
"I was, like, 14 years old and I saw them at Manchester Cavendish House," he explained. "So I thought that as well as wanting to bring some new things into my tent I wanted to have something meant something to me in the past and inspired me."
