Singer to finally get a clothing label deal

The Gossip's Beth Ditto is set to get a clothing deal with plus-size retailer Evans.

The Daily Mirror reports that the singer is about to sign a deal with the clothing manufacturer to design a range of clothes between sizes 14 and 32.

The newspaper quotes a source as saying, "She wants to show the world that big girls can have fun with fashion – and stick two fingers up to the size zero brigade."

Last summer rumours circulated that Ditto was to design clothes for New Look, only for

The singer was said to have previously snubbed Topshop after criticising them for not making clothes suitable for larger people.

Way to go Beth and I so agree with Topshop too. They are small fittings especially the sizes 14/16. They rarely have these sizes in store if they do they only have 1 of that size out so its first come first served. Where as size 8, 10 they will hold a couple of each of those sizes. Thats why size 14,16 sell out so quick online.

Oh lord I hope this is true. Evans really need to draw some younger people in their shops and I'm sick of their frumpy clothes!

you do realise that Topman, Burton, Dorothy Perkins, Evans, Miss Selfridge, Outfit, Topshop, Wallis and Bhs are all owned by the same massive evil fashion empire - the arcadia group right?shes still designing for topshop, they'll just be sold under the evans name. Hardly punk is it beth?

even though they're all under the same umbrella corp, she's designing for bigger girls--Top Shop couldn't offer that.

Wasn't she once some sort of singer?? Clearly making more music is standing in the way of a big pay check!

I like it when celebs who are actually plus size decide to design for plus sizes. If Ms Ditto decides to design adding her own zany twist to the clothes the results will be very interesting to see.
