The Hold Steady: 'We don't want a party war with Art Brut!'

Watch a video interview with US Rock 'N' Roll Riot headliners now

The Hold Steady, currently on a US tour with Art Brut on the NME Rock ‘N’ Roll Riot Tour 2007, have spoken of their fears of ending up in a “partying competition” with their hard-drinking tour mates.

The band expressed their worries in a new video interview, which is available to watch on NME.COM now.

“I read some stuff online from Art Brut saying they’d heard we like to party,” said The Hold Steady’s guitarist Tad Kubler. “I hope we don’t start having to out-do each other.”

“Partying together is good, partying against each other is when the trouble starts,” added singer and guitarist Craig Finn.

Kubrer added: "That’s when trips to the hospital become frequent."

The video interview is available to watch in full now on NME.COM’s video channel.
