I didn't get caught up in the ticket rush. I guaranteed a good ticket by paying £500 online a few days ago to some russian ticket agency. I'm guaranteed a seat! =)

I wonder how long it would have taken to sell out if touts didn't get their hands on at least 50% of the tour tickets!!??Unfortunately nowadays, bands can't take pride in their tour selling out in x amount of hours because its not a true account, touts just buy the tickets to make a quick buck and thats what makes them sell out so quick. Shame.Demand is there no doubt for these bigger bands but the real fans lose out and have to pay double the odds, if not more on sites like E-bay.

I agree Clemo. It's about time the sale of event tickets was banned on eBay, as well as these re-sale websites that let people charge the earth for tickets and add their own fees on as well. These people that buy tickets just to sell them on for a profit are a disgrace, and it's about time some action was taken. The re-sale of football tickets is banned, so why not do the same for gigs?

Agreed with the above. here are almost 800 auctions selling Killers tickets on ebay already. Over 1600 tickets straight onto the black market.Disgusting. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PRATS.

This is so true, if ebay dont stop it, is there anyway we can ever stop it though ?

The government could oppose an outright ban on it, then eBay and these other re-sale sites wouldn't have a choice. The government has been asked this question before, but apparently they are not in favour of an outright ban, just on certain events like Wimbledon and the 2012 Olympics. Perhaps the NME could run a campaign????????

Online ticket companies should take up a similar approach to glastonburys scheme photo id on tickets, wouldnt be difficult. register with ticket company so they have our mug shot and address which can be printed on tickets they keep these records on file.

for the last 3 killers glasgow gigs, ive been ready to buy tickets when they go on sale and missed out every time! something truly stinks and seeing all the greedy bastards on ebay makes me sick. heres hoping they play t in the park this year to soothe this a little.

Exactly. However, I reckon if tickets for things are to be re-sold on Ebay, then they should be sold at face value. like there should be a bid starting at about 1p or something and then it goes up and up but the person who gets it at face value should get the tickets. Idea? I'm not sure it would work, but it's what people really need to be working towards. because it will be very difficult to stop touts selling tickets on ebay. Damn them all!

I agree with all of the above, something just has to be done, it's exactly the same with Football Tickets, i was lucky, I managed to get tickets for the Birmingham 26th gig but that was at 10:05 on the official LG Arena ticket website! :D

I was acutally looking forward to seeing The Killers in March but that is now no longer going to happen because of the amount of tickets that have basically been bought and then put straight on Ebay, I've already seen The Killers before but it's basically not the point. This is a reaccuring thing though and it hasn't just happened with The Killers, If you look on ebay for any gig for a 'big' name band then your likely to find tickets for their gigs on Ebay! something seriously needs to be done to cut down on the amount of tickets that are stolen from the 'REAL MUSIC FANS'!! It's always us who suffers but sadly I refuse to be ripped off and refuse to bid stupid money on Ebay

"Perhaps the NME could run a campaign????????", two or so years ago the NME did run a campaign to try and get restrictions put on the secondary market. In all honesty the only way a fair system will work is a lottery-style, in which you register for the gigs you want to get tickets for within a week's period, and if your lucky to get selected you get an invite to purchase tickets within a deadline period of 7 days, with the remaining tickets going on general sale.

perhaps they could do it in a way of Glastonbury. Tickets with your details on it. If u cant make it, no one else can go, u can only claim it back with the event provider.

we should all bid up and ruin the auctions on ebay for these touts....illl be bidding 1 million quid for some tickets....ha! in your face touts!

You've wasted your money jeepcat.... And those who didn't get a ticket and wanted one don’t worry... I saw them at both Glastonbury and Reading and they were by no means the best band at either. I do love the killers and guaranteed they'll put on a good show with fireworks, lights, pyrotechnics etc but the last two times I’ve seen them I’ve been so disappointed with them they sounded so so bad..... definitely not a good live band.

actually the real question we should be asking is not why have touts got all the tickets, but why haven't the killers done a decent album for years.

Pffffft, NME start a campaign against eBay selling tout tickets? If only. NME won't rock the boat when eBay is an advertiser.

i don't think selling tickets on e-bay should be banned completely. i for one got tickets but had a holiday so had to get rid of them. does that count as touting? i dunno. but i do think that they should be sold at face value. definately not over £50...
