The Killers and Coldplay to play intimate gig together

The two bands will play to just 2,000 lucky punters

The Killers and Coldplay are to play a one-off gig at London's O2 Shepherds Bush Empire together in aid of the War Child charity.

The gig takes place on February 18 - directly after the BRIT Awards. Both bands will play 45 minute sets.

Tickets for the gig will be distributed through a lottery system, and will be limited to two per person. To register for tickets visit Warchildheroes.com. Registration will close on February 3.

A statement from Coldplay about the gig read: "In our eyes, War Child is one of the world's most important charities, and The Killers are one of our favourite bands, so playing this concert is an absolute pleasure for us."

A statement from The Killers said: "Coldplay were one of the bands that gave us hope when we were just four boys in a garage. To share the stage with them for the War Child cause is an honour."

War Child organisers are set to releas the charity album 'Heroes' on February 16. It features some of the biggest legends in music requesting newer artists to cover some of their most famous tracks.

Collaborations on the album come from the likes of Paul McCartney and Duffy, U2 and Elbow, Stevie Wonder and Estelle and The Clash and Lily Allen.

If it is so rubbish, and you hate the bands so much, why did you read the article, then spend time replying? It hasn't got a cryptic title, why waste your time?
