The Long Blondes to debut new material
New song written for Tate Modern show
The track will be exclusively availably at a listening post in front of the artwork that inspired it - Jannis Kournellis' ’Untitled’ from 1979.
The track will also be available from May 1 until the end of November at Tatetracks.org.uk.
The project is part of the 12-week long Tate Tracks which, according to a statement “(Attempts) to match inspirational visual art with inspirational new music”.
Previous musicians taking part have including Klaxons, Graham Coxon and Sway. In coming months Man Like Me and Lethal Bizzle are expected to take part.
The band said: “Untitled (1979) caught our eye because we saw the stark industrial landscape and picture ourselves within it.”
