Subways threatening to 'throw a pint of beer over Pete Doherty'

The Subways' Billy Lunn has launched a verbal attack on Pete Doherty, saying he can't understand why the Babyshambles frontman continually lets down his fans by missing gigs.

Speaking to Rock Sound, Lunn was asked if he would be confronting anyone at this weekend's Reading And Leeds Festivals (August 22-24).

"I don't think there is anyone I want to negatively accost at the festival," he said, before changing his mind. "I suppose I would throw a pint of beer over Pete Doherty if he is there. 'If' being the word as we just played an Austrian festival and Babyshambles were meant to be playing two bands after us, and guess what, he didn't turn up."

Lunn also said he wants to "ask him [Doherty] what he thinks he is doing."

The Subways play the Main Stage at Reading on Saturday (August 23) and Leeds on Sunday (24).

heres the things, Pete is a much better lyricist and babyshambles are a totally better band musically. babyshambles and libertines V the subways. i think we all no who wins that competition. Billy, keep your nose in your own business and concentrate on your own crummy band. i actually really liked the subways, untill the lead singer decided to take it upon himself to criticise other bands and lead singers who are better than him and his band. pete for ever!!!xx do one billy xxxx ur rubbish

Lets hope he finds him! About time someone did us all a favour. Why are people under the illusion he is a genius? He has never done a single thing to prove it, its just the 'cool' people who think as he is an artist, poet etc he is talanted. Babyshambles are not fit to wipe the shit from my shoes! What this is about is letting fans down, how can people support him when he clearly doesnt care if your there or not or would not insult you by not turning up! PETE YOUR A WANKER!!

Since when does one have to be a superior musician to level criticism. I'd be surprised if anyone on this string would qualify to open for the Subways.Just because I am a lousy swimmer does not mean I would not have every right to blast Michael Phelps if he skipped a swim meet w/o good cause.

Billy has this spot on and tbh if you can't see that then your a bit stupid, I m a fan of Babyshambles but his continued no-shows have just put me off ever seeing them live again. And imo The Subways are much better than Babyshambles Pete Doherty can lick the Tip

Have you lot ever actually listened to Babyshambles? They are OK but the amount of effort The Subways go to interact with their fans pisses all over most bands, Docherty is a selfish smack head who needs to sort himself out before he will give a shit about his fans. He isn't fit to lick his music off Billy Lunns shoes as far as I'm concerned!

Ive never heard the subways , but i really think that pete doherty is a good singer etc , and i dont see why other bands criticise each other ! pete doherty has done some shit stuff , but he is changing for the better , and yeh loads people might wanna do that , but lets be honest ... has he got the balls to do that .. i no i certainly wouldnt !!
