Bowery club to become fashion boutique

Legendary punk club CBGB’s is set to re-open as a high-end fashion boutique.

Designer John Varvatos is set to occupy The Bowery space in Manhattan, reports The Rock Radio.

The space has been closed since October 2007.

Varvatos, who has used the likes of Iggy Pop in his ad campaigns, hopes to move in and open the store by March.

The legendary venue closed at Halloween 2006 following a number of rent problems.
