Album review: Har Mar Superstar - 'Dark Touches'

We are not aroused

Thought Har Mar’s spindly pubes bursting from the sides of his jock strap while doing his Ron Jeremy sex thang couldn’t get any fouler? Check out electro crotch-thruster ‘I Got Next’, where he sings about tasting a girl’s apple sauce. There’s nothing inherently wrong with apple sauce, but when it’s used to allude to Har Mar giving oral sex, the image conjured up will leave you gagging. Yeah, it’s his shtick, and you could laugh with him if the music was in any way exciting. Unfortunately, however, ‘Dark Touches’’ filth-funk fury is made impotent by sheer lack of hooks. A slew of weak spunk jokes is all that remains and you’re left being assured of just one thing: Har Mar is a wanker.

So this is what the legendary NME considers a review of a piece of music is it? a few tawdry cheap shots at the way the artist looks, ONE sentance regarding the actual musical content followed by a childish and unfounded slanderous remark suggesting that the artist spends his time involved in onenism. I'm sure Alex Hoban never mastubates after all, how ever would he find time to when he's so busy studying and disscecting works of contemporay art and writing up his findings in well mannered carefully researched way so as to give the general public and discerning consumer all he/she needs to decide whether to make a purchase or not.bit pathetic really.

Drew : Har Mar whateverhisnameis is and has always been total shit. This review is one of the few truly honest ones the NME puts out these days. Personally I'd like to see a few more pompous, shit bands and musicians called pompous and shit, because they are. And you are a bell end for getting upset about it.

I'm no huge fan of Har Mar, but I have to agree with Drew...How exactly did you manage to land a job in journalism, Alex? And what's more, how did this even get signed off? Shame on you, NME editors.
