Interpol

Mammoth

You shouldn’t judge a record by its cover, but that Interpol’s ‘Our Love To Admire’ album has a snap of a stuffed lion seemingly preparing to bum an antelope, and is also great, is no coincidence. The cover of ‘Mammoth’ has a stuffed elephant on it, which is pretty cool – as is the precision-pounding, gong-chimingly relentless chant of the song contained within. Now, if they sort out a cover with one of those stuffed squirrels dressed as a cricket umpire, with his bushy tail poking out of the back of his little white jacket, they’ll have the record of the decade on their hands.
