The Libertines : Up The Bracket

...an unholy row a million times better than 'What A Waster'...

What the blazes is going on? Coldplay release the dreariest load of flu-rock tosh since Elbow and half the globe buys it, whilst the [a][/a] remain glued to the toilet circuit despite being the funniest, most twisted London rock band since Campag.

Crack open the London Pride and get the absinthe flowing then, 'cos 'Up The Bracket' is an unholy row a million times better than 'What A Waster'. Pete'n'Carl burble insanely about "Two shallow men up the Cally Road" whilst ex-Clash chap Mick Jones rebuilds their punk rock rumble with a tenth gear attached. Get these musket-toting Chas'n'Dave loving herberts back on our screens again quick! Do you hear me, you drop-outs?

Not a bad song on The Libertine's debut. Eversoslightly better than What A Waster which laked the half-hidden guitar solos which secure The Libertines' position as England's best band since Joy Division. Best tracks Boys In The Band, Up The Bracket and Death On The Stairs.
