The Streets

Heaven For The Weather

There’s something perverse about releasing such a summery, jaunty, meteorologically-positive number in the middle of a horrifically misery-making cold snap. Sadly, said perversity is about all there is to recommend for a track so irritatingly concerted in its attempts to be awful things like ‘catchy’ and ‘nagging’ that it becomes the aural equivalent of a playful Jack Russell tugging at your trouser leg. Horrible, and the video’s even worse.

What utter, utter wank this is. How has Mike Skinner made a career out of this intensely irritating, thick-as-shit mockney sing-song drivel? It's fucking pathetic.

I completely disagree. For some reason, which I can't pinpoint, I love this song. There's something so sunny, summery and uplifting about it. It might be the chorus or the instrumental aspect to it, but there definitely is something to love about it there. I'm not saying his talking isn't bad, because quite frankly I think The Streets are on that level of averageness that they can actually be good (when something so bad can actually be good), they have gems that grow on you because I must admit at first, I wasn't a lover of this track, in fact, quite the opposite! However, it leaves you with a sense of joy on a downer and good at starting off an upbeat night.I don't usually like bands such as The Streets, but this tune has a likeability factor about it.

"MusicLoveStar " you clearly work for Mike Skinner's PR company. Your attempt to talk up this utter shit gives you away, as no sentient human being could describe it as anything other than dog shit on a bap. You should change your login to "LovesShitMusic".
